Plasterboard taping?

I am in the process of blocking up a door way. I have made up a frame of 4x2 onto which I will fix plasterboard. Do I need to tape the joints between the plaster boards and the existing plastered wall?

i may be wrong here,my father in law is a plasterer (but he's not here to ask) i think you have to tape all the joints due to any movement etc..... so i say yes?

Yes, it helps hold the two together for when you skim plaster over the top.

If you're trying to get hold of some of the right tape, it's called scrim tape. About 3-4" wide, open mesh. Not very sticky - you should probably slap a bit of plaster or bonding across the gaps then apply the tape. Smooth it off as flat as you can Leave it to dry, then skim.
