I have been experiencing extreme tiredness recently, feeling drowsy in the mornings even after a good sleep, and in the early evenings. Or could it be age related? I am 54.

Are you anaemic?
What is your diet like?
Do you take vitamin supplements? Perhaps you need more iron... Are you dieting at the moment? Thyroid? Menopause?
Go to your GP and have a blood test.. it could be a number of things.
You have had quite a number of blood tests over the past few months ( I think) and anything significant would have shown up.

Dietary deficiency as a cause of your symptoms?........naaah!

New girlfriend?..........maybe.

my diet is pretty healthy, I eat porridge every morning with banana, pears& sultanas, washed down with freshly squeezed orange juice, for lunch its either salads/ or pasta, oily fish sucha s mackerel or trout, fruit for desert most days. rarely eat in the evenings. thats a good idea about a blood test.
I doubt it's your diet then.

How much sleep is a 'good sleep'?
When you say you rarely eat in the evenings, do you mean you don`t have an evening meal at all? Maybe that is why you are tired in the evening and before breakfast.
Question Author
i havent eaten an evening meal in years, just a snack, eg some fruit, usually something light. mainly because i´m trying to control my weight.
lol sqad, same novia for 4 years now
Question Author
sleep. dont get more than 7 hours usually.
sqad, i think i´m due a blood&urine test soon, aren´t they annual?
LOL...perhaps she is boring you.
Get another one..;-)
I have no idea piggy.....if i was wrong and you haven't had a blood test recently, then the post of Purple_Popple is very relevant.(Except of course for the menopause LOL)
Any other symptoms?

I doubt it would be hypovitaminosis D, given that you live in sunny Spain.

she is on the quiet side, sqad, what to do? at least no headaches,
And there's me, thinking at that age, it's "normal".
Sorry piggynose!
OK you may be slightly hypoglycemic. try having a might snack before you go to bed see if that helps?
Well piggynose, I wish my my food regime was half as healthy as yours, and surely 7 hours sleep as rather good. I don't know any person in your age range that gets much more, in fact most myself included are lucky to achieve 5 hours, which is interrupted for "urine breaks" a few times.
I would be quite concerned not to have an early evening meal - are you sure you're getting enough nourishment?
Question Author
boxtops, after almost 8 years, should i change my eating habits now?
I usually have a large bowl of porridge daily, with fruit, and a big lunch also daily, as for the evening, i dont feel like eating much apart from something light. so surely i´m getting enough nourishment?
