Hi Walnut, I have looked in a number of books and the only reference is Mattock another name for a pick. and I think this was given by the Real Shaneystar. The letters you give only brings up a few words on my spellchecker and none fit clue. did you have 7 letters before. ?

I've been trying too walnut, got me stumped!

Walnut..I have searched through several of my dictionaries and cannot find anything that matches or fits with your letters.
Bradfords gives..Mattock,Claut, and Jembe for a hoe..and for a pick ..Gurlet or Gleaner... Are you sure about the letters.Is it a crossword or a Quiz?

Factfinder being a Scots crossword I tried Chambers Scots dictionary cab ceb cib etc but no joy.

this is going to sound pretty silly but the only viable word with those letters is CABRITS which is a pronghorned antelope.

Cannot help thinking there is some connection - prong

Stupid I know but thought worth mentioning. Have also been through a lot of books. Would be interested to know the answer!
