Anyone else watch this. I have a passion for South African History, and as such found it very interesting, but some of the scenes made me want to cry. I'll never understand how anyone can treat another human being in that way.

Eugene Terreblanche is a dinosaur. He literlly lives in the past - he believes that the Dutch settlers are the superior race in South Africa, and that black people are there as convenient servent / slave labour.

It's a testament to this level of self-delusion that he still blieves that the call will come from white South Africans to lead them to 'victory' and to reclaim what is rightfully 'theirs'.

The last person who thought as he did, and similarly waited, vainly, was Sir Oswald Moseley.

You can only take comfort from the breathtaking stupidity and arrogance of this man, and his followers, which borders on comical, and the extremely small minority of people who dress up like him because their insecurities require a notion of banding together against a common enemy.

Fortunately, in a humane and free culture, there is room for everyone, even deluded bullying ugly fascists.

Damn missed that & really wanted to watch it,does anyone know if it is repeated????

I don't know, I had actually made a diary entry in it because it was on E4 a while ago. These things do come back round, but you may have more luck with Sky.

What did all y'all make of the lovely Missus, I am afraid for me the jury will be out for a while on the pair of them!

If you mean JP's missus, I didn't find her AS obnoxious. Despite being abhorred by most of the views held, I am also realistic enough to understand that most people become what they were bred into and rarely change. She, at least (and it's a small mercy) seemed to accept change and adapt her opinions more than the men, even though it went against everything she knew. It felt unnatural to her, but she realised that people couldn't go on hating for ever.
I felt she was making a concession by ' talking the talk' , but am unsure that they really will be able to follow through. I do agree it's a start! I have been to Capetown twice, there are still big differences and I am sure we stopped in 'inappropriate' places a couple of times but we were made very welcome. Life is still tough in South Africa if you are not well off. Despite that, I would like to go back year after year as a visitor.
