I saw that Within Temptation played a few UK dates this year ... but I've missed them.

There are a couple of festivals coming up - probably not your kind of music but they`re Guilfest and the Happy Days Festival.

I was really looking at small venue gigs ... (I like to get close to the action, lol) ... so ...

Brighton ... Concorde, Komedia, etc ...

London ... Roundhouse, Dingwalls, Barfly, Shepherd's Bush Empire, etc

I only looked at Within Temptation because Slapshot used to have Sharon Den Adel as an avatar, so I listened to some of their stuff, and thought they'd be good live.

I didn't no, too many other things on to afford the trip, but i'd love to have gone, maybe next time, I'll get keep listening to the albums a ogling Sharon.. ;0)

Hi JJ My son went to see Within Temptation at Wembley.... really enjoyed it. Thought you might like to know that Caro Emerald will be at the Brighton Centre on Oct 9th , I remember you like her, I was at the same concert as you when she was at Shepherds Bush.

I just can't stand the Brighton Centre. It's one of those big, soulless places.its also the ugliest building in Sussex.

The last time anything jolly happened at the Brighton Centre was in 1974 when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo.

Yes, that was in Brighton.

Sorry JJ I forgot what the Brighton centre was like, I went there when I toured with a band back in 2002 (as wardrobe, not an artiste!)Most of the time, we didn't have a clue what town we were in.... 3 nights on the tour bus, then 1 night in hotel, plus all the vodkas. It was a fab experience tho :-)

But I do think that he person who designed the Brighton Centre, and the planning officer who approved it, should be chained to the railings across the road, and made to sit and look at it.

And, every now and then, they should be taken down the road, to look at the classic, simple Art Deco beauty of the Grosvenor Casino, to see how a sea front building actually should be designed.

And then taken back again, and chained up opposite the Brighton Centre.

Casino building very elegant JJ, Looking back through my diary, I see I needed use of a washing machine in B Centre, and theirs was broken, apparently been out of action for months! I had to waste valuable vodka time walking to find a laundrette! I wonder if they've fixed it yet!!
