Ihave a Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD and it loses power mostly when going up an incline like if it is diesel starvation. Have cleaned out the pump priming plunger but it does not seem to work. Sometimes it clears itself and then the problem comes back. The Jeep is a 2001 and has done 44,000 miles.

Check the fuel pickup in the tank.

...and change the fuel filter.
