Agree - Carol Vorderman might be able to work out a few numbers, but Stephen Fry's overall knowledge is far greater I'd say - he seems to know everything!

Undoubtedly Fry. Vorderman is rubbish. Her reputation is built entirely on being better than a few contestants at the Countdown numbers game, and even that's more a measure of the contestants' weakness rather than her strength.

Don't think Vorderman has help with the numbers game, she does it herself. I think they have a different kind of intelligence. She's an engineer, so if the world had suffered some technological catastrophe, she would be able to help rebuild it. Don't think the same could be said for Fry, but he would be able to quote Shakespeare while Carol worked. In terms of behind the scenes help, Fry gets far more help on QI than she gets on Countdown. So who's cleverer depends on what you want them to do.
