Well, I'm here in Fuenirola and we're wondering whether its worth doing the trip to Gibraltar or Tangier. We can't make up our minds. Tangier sounds exciting but quite expensive to go. Is there much to see in Gibraltar.

A lovely walk to the top, nearly killed me!! you can also take the cable car or a bus, well worth!!
Sorry I was naturally talking about Gibraltar.
Gibraltar is really very small and limited. Unless it is putting on some special "do", like a military tattoo or a race of some sort , there is really very little of interest. Shops are not bad, but not big.
I have been to both places. I'd recommend Tangier.
At least in Tangier you might get to see a cabaret/belly dancing.
And never fear, Morocco is not "dry".
Having done both on a recent cruise, it depends what you enjoy. Gibraltar is Little England in the sun with great views from the pillar of hercules; Tangier is hot and dusty but fascinating if you like markets (soukhs?) but they will harrass you to buy. Your choice
I have also been on trips to both. Gibraltar is interesting and the tour of the rock is worth doing - we did it in a private taxi which we hired on arrival and for four of us, it was a good way of doing it and not too expensive.
Tangiers is probably more of an exciting and different day out. We took my 80 year old mother on the day trip there when were were on holiday in Marbella, and she was fascinated, never having been to Africa. It's a completely different culture and way of life. Plus you have a boat trip thrown in.
