My new washing machine takes 2 hours to do a mixed load...............my old machine took 1 hour 15 minutes for the same programme.

And then once it has ended it takes an age for the interlock to release......

One of the programmes in my new machine takes over 3 hours. What could possibly be that dirty?

Modern technology may take the hard work out of everyday tasks but it isn't doing much to speed them up is it?

And then it insists on fluffing up the clothes before crying that it has finished!

Some of the cycles on mine take over 3 hours yet it's super efficient, the door does open straight away though and the display tells you how long there is to wait. Bet it would do loads of stuff if I ever actually read the manual.

I sincerely hope none of our lives become so dull that we resort to reading the manuals for our appliances ;-)

I have a Bosch, don't know about other washing machine cycles.

If I want to cut the spin time, I turn the machine off - although the timer will not turn off. I then programme the machine to 'drain'. Drain takes just one minute.
