Maybe wrong section, but most viewed me thinks. But why do some people post questions on here just to get arguements going? We all like a laugh, but sometiimes the threads get a bit personal

With so many members there's bound to be many differing opinions on any given topic, some do get heated but fortunately it doesn't always end in a slanging match.

We aint all argumentative................................................................................................................................ some of us are insane instead! ;-)

There is many differing opinions on here,but the problem is that some people think THEIR opinion is RIGHT and everyone elses is WRONG,these people ought to realise that it is open to everyone and if they don't agree with someone else,doesn't mean its not right!!!

I agree with you kipchik. Everyone has their own opinion, and should be allowed to say it without being made to feel bad for it. Which I think happens on here a lot. And (now going to get myself in trouble) but does it sometimes get a bit clicky on here too?

Yeah it does, I suppose that's inevitiable seeing as a few of us have been here a while. Alot of members have been here years so it's understandable that there may be a few 'in' jokes, but it doesn't mean to say they'd ignore you should you interact with 'em- most are lovely.

thre are too many peops on here trying to be arrogant & annoy peops.

There are some peops (Word Butcher, Zorro & a cupple of others) who are quite funny, seemingly just being on here to redress the balance.

yeah poor old kick3mOn who I've always found a great aber and very sensible got a real mauling this morning from someone I'd never seen post before and it was really ofensive and very personal. When several other people called the person on this they pretended it was a wind up. It didn't strike me like a wind up to start with and if it was it really wasn't funny, I just can't really see what can be done about it though to be honest but people shouldn't have to put up with it.

Thankfully Zorro came to Kickme (who is very sweet) 's rescue and reprimanded her verbal attacker. I ,myself also wound her attacker up in another section to teach her a lesson.

i also alerted Word Butcher to do his/her business on her !!

I think everyone has an area of interest in which they may not act as rationally as they would hope. I once had a row with noxlumos on this site, which is quite staggering, as he is one of the kindest and most informative of ABers. However, he caught me on a traumatic subject and a mist descended, replacing my otherwise placid nature with the banshee from hell.

Some people do overstep the line though and forget this is a family site. One ABer called me a [edited by AB] which doesn't seem too bad, but my 9 year old daughter found his response and it upset her greatly. I'd never noticed said ABer before!

ah I remember that drusilla, it was about whether men were often the victims of rape or if it was a more or less solely male crime and I had no problem with the way we rowed about it bcause it was done, along with the mud slinging, rationally and we were just both presenting differing viewpoints.I have big issues with really rude ill informed people who simply start name calling and insinuating that there is something morally or mentally wrong with anyone that doesn't share their (usually right wing) opinions, a good debate or even carefully orchestrated row between 2 sensible people can be quite enjoyable, it's just the brainless nasties you sometimes get on here I have issues with.

noxlumos and Se7en, thanks guys...hadn't read this thread before. You two and Zorro are my heros this week for being so lovely and defending me in my hour of need.xx

Minxie you're right, some do get way too personal, but most of the time it is just banter, and even when threads get heated and topics are highly emotive, I find most Abers can put their point across, disagree, then get on with each other afterwards. I guess some people are just tetchy pains in the a$$ in real life, and so come across in just the same way in AB world.

Alot of the threads on Sport are designed to start a bit of banter, but that's what a lot of the posters enjoy, and I think over there, we sports fans kind of expect the banter. Other topics (eg News) can get a wee bit tense for me. I prefer a laugh most of the time.

It really does annoy me on here when people rub you up the wrong way. The news section seems to be the worst. Some people seem to be just itching for an argument,
