Paying Twice For The Same Airline Ticket.
Hello All.
My daughter had a city break in barcelona last week and flew with ryan air
She was at the air port in good time and booked in. All was well until the departure board flaged up a delay then a subsequent cancellation. She was in formed that the next available flight would be 45 minets later and had to pay around £150.00. The flight that she had just paid twice for then left some 11 hours later.
Any help would be gratefully recieved especailly if we can get the money back from the theiving scum.
Thanks in advance

Ryanair wouldn`t do that deliberately Dave. There are compensation rules about that sort of thing these days. It would cost them more in compensation payouts that refunds http:// www.mon eysavin gexpert .com/tr avel/fl ight-de lays#wh atcount s
She should demand her £145 back if it happened as you say.
If they cancel a flight they should find another one that sets off within the timescales of the contract.
She should also complain that they said it had been cancelled when it turned out it was only delayed (albeit by 11hours). Compensation would be given for an 11 hour delay.
However if they offered her a choice of a free flight after maybe 90 minutes or an earlier flight with a £145 charge, and she chose to pay for the earlier flight then her case seems weak to me.

What you describe sounds like compensation is payable. For these purposes there is no difference between a delay and a cancellation.
