Well kloof, I am a relatively newcomer to this " IT world", I have taught myself the basics, with help from a book Laptops for Seniors. I took pot luck and bought my PC for £349 ( Packard Bell), on turning it on, it was easy to follow the instructions given on the screen. Good luck.
Kloof...if you already have the "http://www.7dayshop.com/7dayshop-network-500mbps-mini-homeplug-powerline-ethernet-network-adapter-twin-pack" thwen you don't need the edimax.
Time is running short for me tonight, as it very nearly time for Martini and The Archers, but why do you think you need a new PC ? I am still a bit unsure on that question !
Hi
Have you not got an Independent PC shop near you ? Try yellow pages (or Yell.com on line) - they will often beat most big stores' prices or even build one to your own spec. Well worth a look.

Just had a nasty thought!
What is your pc connecting to?
Is it the Virgin Super Hub 2 wireless or the Powerline adapters wireless?
I have a sneaky suspicion your still connected to the old one.
I have Superhub 2 and must say the range is very good. I can connect with my laptop at the bottom of my garden which means a distance of about 30metres and passing through 2 solid brick walls.
