Did anyone watch Bruce Forsyths documentary on him last night on ITV? He suffered a lot of racism in the early days of his career. How very talented he was though from very young.Here he is at the age of just 6!!

Very bad wasn't it! After swimming in a hotel pool, the hotel staff were asked to drain it!

I am not sure if it was covered in the TV program but Sammy Davis was going out with Kim Novak and they wanted to marry.

But the film studios who managed Kim Novak, an attractive blond haired white woman, did not want her marrying a black man.

So the studio sent some "heavies" round to Sammy Davis Jr warning him off Kim Novak and said his life would get very unpleasant if he carried on seeing her.

I didn't see the Documentary,Elina,never knew it was on,but have read his Book,absolutely absorbing,couldn't believe half the abuse he was subjected to.

You may be able to watch on catch up ever on ITV. The book must have been very interesting. I found the abuse shocking. He wasn't allowed to stay/sleep in one hotel where he was performing.

Could never stand the man and could not understand why he had such a following. Mind you, I have a similar opinion of Elvis Presley. Both of them seem to have an element of the "King's New Clothes" about them. Half decent karaoke singers, the pair of them, but that's about it.
