It's a bit unclear what you're asking about. An outfit for you to wear to an old acquaintance's wedding and you are the size described? Or are you getting married to an old acquaintance and are the size described? Or is your acquaintance the one getting married?
Monsoon does nice things that could fit any of those situations.
Sorry, just noticed your next post after the original question. Still try Monsoon. The Telegraph journalist, Bryony Gordon, wore a Monsoon dress for her wedding. She (by her own admission is a bit overweight) and she looked lovely. It was a halter neck maxi dress in white.
Having become secretly hooked on the Four Weddings programme I'd suggest she wears what she likes including a white meringue if she wants to, after all it's her first wedding. From what I've seen on TV age and size seem to be no consideration in what the brides wear!
I am told longer skirts/dresses make you look shorter, depending on your body shape, darker colours on the bottom for bigger bellies, hips, bums and a gathered/frill front top/blouse for elongation.
