anyone remember ray cokes from mtv.whatever happened to him,his shows were great fun along with rob the cameraman.

He was brilliant. And wasn't he zig and zag's dad? lol. MTV was way better when it was MTV Europe. No idea what happened to him, I think I'll have a google...

I remember what I think was his last show. He played guitar onstage with The Cure. I think the song was 'Boys Don't Cry'.

Sheffwed39 - I once went to a celebrity party (long story) about 18 months ago, and had rather too much free champagne to drink.


On the way out, I saw Ray Cokes chatting in the corridor of the television studio where the party was being held.


I walked up to him (remember, I was drunk), grabbed him by the hand and slurred "Mate...you were excellent on MTV Ray...we don't see enough of you".


He looked confused for a moment, and it was then that I realised it wasn't Ray Cokes...it was Peter Powell - Radio One DJ from the 80s.


Seriously - they now look exactly the same.


After that experience, I don't approach celebs...too embarrassing.

kebab meister.you just answered another question that was doin my nut in. beutiful looking presenter i think came on before or after ray. you got it spot on kristiane backer.sweet.

Oh wow ~ I LOVED 'Most Wanted' it was the highlight of my day (saddo that I was). MTV was so much better with VJs (Mr Cokes in particular). I remember when Davina McCall was first introduced on his show..I loved his wit & interaction with the crew.


Aaaaaah..Kristiane & the 'Coca Cola report' ~ Lisa I'anson was a newsreader too. I miss those days.

I was watching Most Wanted when the news broke that Kurt Cobain had killed himself. Ray had to read it out live. He looked like he was about to cry : - (
