Decided to give up dairy as get a bit of eczema inside my ears when I drink or eat the good stuff. So I have decided to knock meat and eggs on the head for 6 months too as a kind of long term detox. My friend is doing it too and we have a bet on as to who can last it. Any recipe ideas for a strict vegan breakfast, lunch and tea would be much appreciated.

No recipe ideas but please take calcium supplements, especially if you are female. This is essential if you do not consume dairy products to keep your bones strong and healthy.
Further to Ethel's post, when I came off HRT and started taking calcium tablets to compensate, my GP then (few years ago), said that it wasn't proven that the body absorbes these, and I would have to get the calcium through my diet.

Maybe its different now, but it's worth checking out Goodsoulette

Did a detox myself, couple of years ago - loved preparing all the pulses etc Red lentils yum yum......didn't like unleaded coffee tho!

Hi GS - Vegan Society here: http://www.vegansociety.com

Now don't forget that this means more than not eating certain things - have a good look through - there's also info on nutrition and what your options are.

You'll be hugging trees and whales and things, and rolling in the meadows in no time. Like, peace . . . .
Yay! First of all I commend you! Even if you are using it as a detox...its still a great present your giving to animals and nature alike...not to mention yourself.

Hiya
I'm sure I remember you saying you were pregnant, don't know if a radical change of diet would need checking with your GP first, but if you were my g/f I'd like you to! All the best
Try the Carol Vorderman Detox book...

Thanks very much guys. No I am not pregnant but thanks for the concern.
You don't need to take calcium supplements, in fact dairy actually leeches calcium OUT of your bones !
