Journey of a letter through the Royal Mail
9 Answers
My daughter is doing a project at school about the journey of a letter from being dropped in a post box to delivery at the other end. I can explain this of course, but does anyone have any websites with child-friendly information? It would be better if she can do her own research on the web than just listen to me droning on! Thanks

Both of those will probably require some parental input but they might provide a starting point.

not sure if this is of any interest to you Xanderma.
me and my kids have sent post cards to ourselves from as far away as TURKEY. using only our house number, post code and "england. europe"
took a while for us to get them. cant imagine the journey they took to get to us but would be fun finding out....
Well, Pod (can I call you Pod or is it Mr Pod?!), she started the project yesterday, using the Aussie website you gave me, and she's having a ball! So much so, that she's trying to kick me off the PC now to do more, at 8.30 on a Saturday morning!!! The project has to be in on Monday, and she has loads of good ideas, so thanks again (hope Mrs Pod likes the card - I'm sure she will, nothing beats homemade!)
It would be interesting to know what happens. I recently sent a payment to an ebay seller using a cheque in an envelope with a second class stamp on it. We are currently in a non payer dispute because the letter took eight days to go from Bromsgrove to Peterborough. It would have taken less time if i had carried it there myself!
