Peter Davidson Kids TV Show 1980's

I don't have much detail on this, but I am trying to get the name of a childrens' TV show in the early 1980's, presented by Peter Davidson. I believe it was on around lunchtime. All I can really remember was that it was recorded on a studio set which looked a bit like a forest clearing with a gate. (I *think*) Peter Davidson used to sit in front of a tree stump and fix either felt or magnetic shapes to the top of it. Don't ask me why!! Some people do remember this, so no, I wasn't on some sort of drug at the time. Anyone got ANY ideas at all on this??
