9 Answers
hi..i have 2 adult children 1 working.....1 on jobseekers.....am claiming housing benefit........the one working is on a 12 hr/wk contract...but hours are often more....minimum wage......council want him to pay over £30/week...if earning over £124.....But as hours change on a daily basis may only earn £80 a week...so he would be better off back on jobseekers.....surely this is not right???Or do i need to go to counci each week with a payslip to show his earnings that week????

It is the average earnings that count.
There are earnings ' ranges' for the amount that a working adult child has to pay. Your sons contributions would put him in the lowest contribution range while the one on JSA pays nothing.
Submitting a new claim every week is impractical they will never keep pace.
