A sad and, thankfully a rare occurrence?

That is sad, as you say at least it is rare.

Tarmac stages are so very fast, and if undulating, cars can go anywhere when they land.

Very bad news, a dangerous sport but as you say, chrissa it is a rare occurrence.

The trouble is the spectators get far too close to the circuit.

I remember back in the late 70's in Kielder Forest,having a Datsun 240Z coming straight at me, pirouetting on its nose. I fled into the trees.

I have only ever seen this on the telly and it looks dangerous then. Sad day for all concerned.

Blummin spectators stand on the road on the bends ..they're bonkers...bound to happen !!

I know mm. We always stood on the inside of bends in the forests.

you see so many near misses on sports out-takes programs on TV. This has to be one of the only sports where spectating is more dangerous than taking part.

very sad. saw this report on world news last night/morning. think it is safer now than it used to be but you still have to be careful and with so many spectators . . . . . . . a great shame though.

Really dreadful and actually not that rare, sure I've heard of accidents like this before. It seems like madness for some spectators to stand where they do.
