For the future, get yourself a bottle-cooling gel sleeve. Stick it in the freezer, and when you're ready to cool a bottle of wine, slip the sleeve over it. Because it's in contact with the bottle, it will cool the wine in minutes - much more quickly than if the bottle's simply placed in the freezer.
Can I recommend one of these ?

I keep a couple in my freezer and they work in about 10 mins. I'm sure that there are cheaper ones around. I have had mine for many years and take them to the caravan with me.
