Am trying to remember an old expression someone used to say in our family when asked how they were. Something like "I'm well brushed and not so finely dusted" or similar. Maybe it is just an old local (Midlands) saying, but has anyone heard of it please?

Not really your answer but I know a man who replies to 'how are you?' with
'not so ducking fusty'.
I've never heard that before Ann, it must be a Midlands saying.
I haven't heard it either Ann.
My mum used to say "Not so dusty, well brushed"
I knew a lovely old lady who always said 'Not so dusty' when I asked how she was. (Derby)
