Completed this except for 5 across : To mislay record covers. I have -L-S-D and am thinking 'closed' as the only possible answer - CD around lose. I just don't understand how this fits 'covers' which is present tense. Can anyone explain or am I going wrong somewhere?

Sorry. There does appear to be a second clue omitted. Unless I am missing something.

'covers' means around

CD is around Lose
to means closed, if you pull a door to you close it.
CD covers lose surely
to = closed (as a door)
