Why Does One Of My Dogs Allow The Other To Pull Its Fur Out ?

Hi , actually it's my nephews dogs . One a springer spaniel just sits and lets the cairn pull its fur out in chunks . Both are female and get on really well apart from this . I would appreciate it if anyone can shed any light on this as the spaniel is getting really sore after a few months of this !

While the why is important, more important is to stop it! Don't tell the cairn off but separate them. If they have to be left alone then separate them! Have they been checked over by the vet? If they have and there is no physical cause then get hold of an APBT behaviourist to get it sorted.

In fact I would have told the other dog off. A sharp 'NO' and pull it away. I wouldn't have let this go on for months until the other dog was 'really sore' !

But surely you can tactfully mention this to your nephew LINCARE, otherwise the poor dog's not going to be helped is it, and you must be concerned or you wouldn't have posted.
