Maybe you could try this first of all, to test your ideas out.

before doing anything go and see a Business Link advisor for self employment advice. They also may be able to advise you on some kind of Intellectual Property Protection for the idea (if its suitable for IPR) to ensure that no one likes your idea so much they steal from under you .
