However a small tube wouldn't hold more than 100ml, so it would be exempted anyway.
Asda have a really good range of cosmetics and toiletries in 100ml (or smaller) containers, including toothpaste, specifically for people who are travelling by air.

I don't think you can do damage with toothpaste - but you can do damage with some liquids that are disguised as toothpaste. As someone has said - all liquids, gels, pastes, creams etc must be in containers no bigger than 100mls, up to a maximum of 1 litre (I think) and packed in a small clear resealable bag which must be kept separate so it can be checked separately.
