It normally occurs at the beginning of relationships as they do not want to be seen wolfing down their food. There is also the risk of spillage, bits in your teeth etc - all to be embarrased about. If it continues after a couple of weeks there is obviously something missing in the relationship (comfortableness).
I personally have never had a problem eating in front of blokes - I wolf it down!! If they can do it then why can't I!!
Another one would probably be going to the toilet with man nearby. All embarrassing things but you just have to get over the initial awkwardness before it all comes with ease.
I didn't like eating in front of my fella, and now three years on we are married and, like whiskeysheri, I can eat him under the table!
Also, aside from the not eating so much thing, when we went out for a meal I would go for something delicate and light, like a salad, or tuna, or chicken. Now I have whatever I want no matter how manly or strong of garlic it is!
