I invariably get moaned at for putting opened tins in the fridge, I have done it since a fridge first came into our home in the early 70s and suffered no consequence, I usually cover the tin with a lid or cling film but apparently is not enough. They even suggest it will damage the fridge.

They give me hell when I do it at work!!

A lot of nonsense?

Ratter to maintain that 5 star rating don't let the inspectors carch you putting opened cans in fridge.
ummmm, actually you laugh at the condition, not the person. Sometimes, she realises what she had done/said and has a good laugh. Wit when Kate was preggers with George, tick for realising that a member of the Royal Family was pregnant. However, she say the Duchess of Cornwall on TV, "Is she the one having a baby?" - and then guffawed when she realised that the Duchess is in her mid sixties.
^^^catch even

Do it all the time, with a lid or clingfilm,
not dogfood though, that's Dry and comes in ½ Cwt plastic sacks.
Ah baldric do you put the sacks in the fridge to keep cool lol.
It's sad but my nan is funny too.

Vakayu, there would be no room for the Gin if we did!
It is not advisable due to chemical changes of the tin affecting the food inside.
At work,my 'old school' boss chucks uncovered tins in the fridge...he's of the opinion that if it hasn't killed you yet,its OK.
I take a more careful approach...into a covered container. I don't want to be responsible for bad marks from an inspector.....
Same at home...tho I don't have unfinished tins very often, and the cats don't care much for tinned food.
No, i never keep opened tins in the fridge, i always put in a bowl what is not needed and cover with cling film.
No never keep opened tins in the fridge and for that matter wouldn't buy a dinged tin in the shop.
No but I never use anything out of a tin that doesn't get used all at once. Just a word of warning, my mother sliced her thumb down to the bone getting a tin out of the fridge that had the lid still held on only partially and pushed down (like we often do)
Very stupid thing to do on reflection.
I've got the safe kind of tin opener that cuts through the lid seam and doesn't leave any sharp edge.
The only opened tin I put in the fridge is corned beef when I've made a butty, as there's always too much, but I never leave it for more than two days and finish it off.
The only Tins allowed in our Fridge, are unopened tins of Carling Lager!!
