name this tune

[ON THE ROAD]

Can anyone help me identify a song I first heard sometime between 1968 -1970. Part of the lyrics went something roughly like this : I'm a hobo, I don't count, I'm living free. The lyric would suggest an American artist, definitely male and of a folk /rock genre. It isn't anyone famous like Dylan otherwise I would have found it. Any help much appreciated or any suggestions of good lyric sights that might cover this era would be great.
