A mercy indeed, but really difficult to comprehend. I know the roundabout vaguely, can you understand it boxtops?

No, I can't. It's a long slow down hill on the A20 down into Dover - the roundabout is the first one you encounter on the dual carriageway coming from the M20, and the Megger building is on the far slde. As someone's blogged, the car must have been going really fast to ramp onto the roundabout and fly across onto the car park on the roof - but it's all speculation at the moment.

it was going so fast that it somehow flew over a multi-storey car park? That would have to be very fast, wouldn't it?

It would indeed, jno - but if you look at the pics, because of the slope down into the docs, the top of the building (further down the hill) is built into the downhill slope. It's still hard to envisage.

so it functioned like a ski jump somehow? Well, if it was doing that kind of speed, I suppose someone will have noticed.

If you look at the pic of the roundabout halfway down that first report, the roundabout has banked sides - if you weren't expecting the roundabout, you could just career up the sides and take off, if you were going fast enough.... perhaps.

There's still a lot of speculation here as to what happened, witnesses still being sought.

It's a two storey car park, Ground and roof, so not very high, but a fair distance from the roundabout, so quite a speed involved.
