A child's earnings do not affect payment of Child Benefit (CHB). If yir girlfriend is still in Full Time Education, she can work but it must be LESS than 24 hours a week. The CHB will not be affected but as the Houseold Income will have increased, the rate of EMA may go down. The rates of EMA are

up to 20,817 per year you get 30 per week
20,818 - 25,521 per year you get 20 a week
25,522 - 30,810 per year you get 10 a week
