isn't 1 800 the american prefix? If so, I don't think its free...I think it costs the same as any other call to america. You may find that if you dial that number from the Uk, you will be told that you cant be connected

buy a cheap international calls sim for your mobile? I had money invested in the US at one stage. I did as much of the admin as possible via email.

I do know it's a lot I Rangoon order some takeaway when my bill came the call a 0800 no. £ 12. What a rip of don't use them e.mail anything but call.

Not sure how it would work dialing an 800 number from the U.K., but here in the U.S., it's a toll-free call (same applies to other similar prefix numbers such as "888".

Thank you all very much - I didn't try it - spotted that I had dialled their toll free oo 800 number with only 1 zero instead of their double 0 and then I check with Virgin who confirmed it is free!

If you can freeload on the net until it is a local call then it should be cheaper.
