It's an equation. It just tells you that one side is the same as the other. It doesn't have a value, it tells you how to calculate a value (once you know either the mass M, or the energy E)
Energy=Mass times by the Speed of Light times by the Speed of Light

Energy in Joules equals mass in kilograms multiplied by 299792458 times 299792458.

Multiplying any mass by the speed of light squared gives you an enormous amount of energy.

For example, 50 kilos of uranium can flatten a large city in seconds; The Sun, losing 4 million tons a second as it fuses hydrogen into helium lights up the whole Solar System for ten thousand million years and only loses a small percentage of its mass. Nuclear submarines can run for several years without refuelling. Watch dials glow for years. A single atom of Plutonium is lethal if it decays while in your body.

energy= mass x force squared/times each other and the formula deppends on having or knowing through trial and error/tests, on how to give mass and force equal values on the same scale
