I have been told by Mrs K. that I have an unreasonable amount of shirts talking up too much space. I have just counted them and I have 48 (not including T-shirts etc.). This does sound quite a lot I admit, but is it excessive? How many shirts do most men have?

mikey did buy my lady friend one that is how i ended up buying this one for me
A quick count of those immediately accessible in one wardrobe yielded a result of 33 plus a couple in the wash and another couple awaiting storage ...48 seems to be a perfectly reasonable number.
So glad Dr F !

Actually the smart shirts I need to wear to work, I get from Tesco these days. They are made from a soft-touch polyester, and don't need ironing at all. For many years I always wore 100% cotton shirts from M+S but they were a b*gger to iron and looked a bit droopy and creased later on in the day, especially if the weather was warm or I was working in a hot stuffy office. But these Tesco ones are marvelous...smart and really easy-care but not in the way that Poly-cotton ones are...sweaty and a bit pongy.

I would recommend all chaps to visit their local Tesco Extra and fully investigate the new shirts !

Cotton Traders make them as well...very good mail-order service to boot.
One dress shirt, 5 work shirts and 5 casual would sound like enough, maye 5 warmer inter shirts.... Let me put it this way if OH had a lot of shirts I couldn't use space in his wardrobe so it wouldn't work at all (Redman has about 11 but then he's retired and his idea of smart is a polo shirt
Thank God - but I must get my eyes tested.

I missed the 'r' in the topic title and thought we were on about bowel habits ... again.
Go and sit on that naughty step again DB !

100 would not be too many if the owner irons them himself. All of them.

Men are quite capable of washing and ironing their own shirts.

Pardon?
Only 48.....?

I can't see how the quantity held matters, (other than the wardrobe space taken up). It doesn't necessitate any more ironing than if you only had two, like poor OG :0)
