Birthday gift for my girlfriend.

It is my girlfriends 17th Birthday on Friday and i'm not sure what to get here. We have been going out for two weeks now and i want to spend around �20-�30. I want to get her something individual and unique. Any ideas?

You need to tread a bit carefully here. If you spend a lot of money on her - relatively speaking - you may embarass her, so I'd be inclined to taker her out for a nice dinner as a gift. If you are still around for her 18th, you can buy a nice piece of jewellry - pendent etc.

I think cinema, meal and maybe flowers and chocs may be in order for this one! No need to go over the top!

Or maybe ask her if there's anything specific she'd like such as a CD (you could make her a CD of her favourite songs if you can)

As I said, don't go over the top, keep it simple and remember it's the thought that counts!!

totally agree with kate1976 - that very much seems the right thing to do. If meeting her at the cinema/restaurant and flowers seem a 'fuss' then even just a nice box of chocolates with please her.

After two weeks, if you don't know her well enough to know something she'd really like, I'd go for a dinner, too.
Maybe even cook one for her.

Don't do jewellery.

On my first birtday with my boyfriend he put rose petals on my bed and in the middle put a dressing gown and some massage oils.
We'd been going out for four months then.

I think jewellery would be nice. I liked to receive that and you never really knew how expensive it was. And even if it wasn't exactly what I would have chosen myself, it is still very special.

Bracelet or necklace as earrings are easy to lose. You can go farther wrong with those if they really aren't her style. Girls prefer certain earrings as they are on fuller show and they choose styles to reflect their face.
