If the plants are still quite young and spindly, they may have less of a crop if the chill get to the leaves at night. My parents always grow Chilli's in the greenhouse and have a really good crop each year, but there is nothing stopping you from planting out with a good mulch on the surface. If you have a dog though, keep them away from the plants lol :o)

i grow mine in big pots in compost outdoors fm june onwards and ave had spectacular crops fm mine i dnt think it wud make much difference either way just think it a personal choice or depending how many plants uve got do half and half and c wot produce beta results but with any type of growing it always risky but happy growing and hnpe u get sum amazing results x
