As above. I would like to do some cardio work and would love to cycle, swim or jog but simply don't have the time. Anybody got any ideas for reasonably gentle cardio work?

Run/walk up and down stairs repeatedly
You need to find time for some exercise- walking briskly is fine
....I'm guessing...lives in a bungalow.

My hectic life and Dad-duties gives me plenty of up and down stairs work, probably about 12 times per the average day! My problem is I am cultivating a bit of a tummy and double chin, the only places fat sits on me ! i want to shift these ...
You could buy a cheap stepping/cycling/running machine and use it in front of the telly before work/in the evenings if you have time.

How is your diet? Eating not to late is a good tip, leaving plenty of time before bed.
Skipping rope?
Just do sit ups. I do 100 per day- takes no time and it keeps your stomach toned, although you can't selectively lose weight, also as factor says run up and down stairs 20 times 2 or 3 times per day, good free cardio.
Exercise bike, or one of those peddaly things you can sit and watch TV and do at the same time... OH got one of those to strengthen his knee.

I thought the stairs at work would be good for me, until one of the docs told me I'd need to do it for 20 minutes at a time to make a difference!

if you simply do not have the time, having the money for a gym would not help.
Anyway, you need to build in more stuff to the things you actually do do - run up and downstairs every time you have to do it. Park further away from where you need to be and briskly walk to your destination
