yeh seen it,no story here it was around 30 ft above the crowd who were standing in a "dont pay " area
the camera angle makes it look like a story:-(
Look at the idiots waving at it - did they think the pilot was going to wave back?
That guy in the orange shirt seems to vanish after it flew past. Blown away by the slipstream?
Reminds me of being at the top of Broadway Tower in the Cotswolds- they know it is a tourist spot and come skimming over, you swear you can see the colour of the pilots eyes.

Thanks DrF, enjoyed that.
They have to come in so low at Skiathos airport they have a level crossing for planes to stop the traffic. All the spotters crowd out a nearby cafe .
This video shows an Italian pilot who misjudged it.

I thought optimists are supposed to live longer ;-)
i've just crossed skiathos off my list of places to go
Cross off the Planespotters' favourite beach too then ;)

Oh yes, quite a climb up - spectacular view on a good day though. Doubt I'd make it up there now.
Wow we would just love that! Reminds us of our holiday in Barbados in 1995 when Concorde was doing weekly flights to the island, we climbed up a cliff to a local beauty spot overlooking the airport and saw it taking off over a sugarcane plantation, making straight for us while we stood there videoing it. It is a show stopping piece of film. I actually fell right down on the ground and the noise nearly deafened us - wonderful, we will never forget this great plane.
We must remember about that about Broadway Tower Mamya. That would be great - we have been to Broadway but not up the tower.
For those of you who have flown into the old Kai Tak airport, a 60 degree turn at about 200 feet............seriously, you could see people beneath you in their apartments from the starboard windows and then the landing out towards the sea. Only one aircraft went off the end, a Chinese Airlines flight (Taiwan) that ignored the windshear warnings - no one injured. It sat there for months - on e lcoa wanting to set up a restuarant called the 'Last Ditch' - when they pulled the plane out of the sea, 1/3 of the metal had dissolved in the acidic waters between the mainland and Victoria Island.

There used to be a little man who lived in one of the apartments by Kai Tak who had a thriving business taking photos of incoming planes and flogging them to the crews.
