Cooked Condensed Milk - Fridge Or Ambient?

I made some breakfast bars with condensed milk which I have stored in the fridge. Would it be OK to store at room temperature instead?

Cheers. I've seen a great little airtight bin in the Container Store that I want to grab before I come home - the bars are taking up a lot of room in the fridge.

Agreed Dave but as they are breakfast bars they aren't going to be lingering for long as they will go stale/soft/get eaten before we need to worry about the half life of condensed milk ;-)

They'll probably last a couple of weeks though - I'm having second thoughts now. I think I just wanted an excuse to buy the bin.

237SJ - you probably know this - but if you simmer a cuppla tins of condensed milk in hot (naturally) water for about 3 hours - milk turns to lovely toffee. You can store the tins in the fridge for a long time. They make lovely banoffee.
