Adventures Of An Old Biddy
7 Answers
yesterday I spent the day with my friends daughter we had a lovely day, we met up at Waterloo and went by tube to North Greenwich to the Emirates gondola ride over the Thames, well worth the trip but not much to do eastside, we came back and strolled along the South Bank and into the Festival Hall at the back outside on the 1st floor they have a small water maze watching the kids in there trying to get out again was real fun, boy did I want to join in but at 76 years young I felt I should "show a little decorum" and just watch. The highlight of our day out was afternoon tea on an old routemaster bus [www.bbbakery.co.uk] with a tour of London included, we booked to sit upstairs and as the bus went along pedestrians were pointing at our bus, one crowd waiting at a crossing cheered and when another double decker tour bus drew alongside and looked in the words "jaw dropping" came to mind they could not believe we were actually eating & drinking tea. The tour wasn't exactly the best but who cared no one on our bus we were too busy tucking in to the seriously good food.it was worth every penny and it was mainly young people on our bus not a bus load of old biddies like me. Will I go again ? of course next time we have out of town visitors at my age & well travelled I am not easily impressed but this was something entirely different.

Dont have lunch beforehand whatever you do.
That 'water maze' between the Royal Festival Hall and the Queen Elizabeth Hall is actually meant to be a work of art, Dee Sa! (It's by Jeppe Hein and called 'Appearing Rooms'). You really should have joined in the fun though; it's meant to be enjoyed by both adults and children alike.
If you go on the Emirates Air Line again, I recommend taking time to view the (free) exhibition at The Crystal, which is very close by:
