My wife and I went for a weeks holiday in West Bay in May where it is filmed.

My wife had watched Broadchurch but I had not, but since coming back I have watched some of the repeats of Broadchurch and it is strange seeing the places from West Bay we saw in the TV program.

The small newsagent where the older man worked is in West Bay but they only used it for external shots. The scenes filmed inside the newsagent were in a different shop, not the one in West Bay.

Lovely place for a holiday, the Jurassic Coast.

I've not read much of the article as don't want any spoilers but am looking forward to it coming back.

I'm really hoping they make more Hinterland too - maybe more biased as it was a nice bit of nostalgia too as I used to live round where it was filmed but it was such a good series too.

Where is West Bay ?

It's not all filmed in West Bay. The church, high street and the houses are all in my home town of Clevedon in Somerset.

West Bay is in Dorset, near Bridport.

The cliffs where the body was found is in West Bay, as is the police station (not really a police station), the newsagent, and the harbour.

The caravan where one of the people lived is near West Bay.

But as has been said, scenes were shot in other places as well.
