I'm covered third party fire and theft and had an accident last week, I'm also in the last month of my policy. I have notified the insurers but nothing has been settled as of yet.
I now need to renew my policy but how much no claims do I have? Do I have none as I've notified them of an accident even though its not been sorted, do I have 2 years until they tell me the claim is settled and I have none or what? Someone has told me that if i was due to have 2 and have an accident it means I've now got 1, Any answers would be appreciated!

what does your renewal notice say?

Who was at fault, you, the other person?

They emailed me a renewal notice that said 2 years but there was also a note on it that said to check my details were correct! i'm thinking of shopping around but want to get it right.

It was a 4 car pile up on the M25, I was car 3, and speaking to other drivers we all think it was a staged accident. I've been told it could take months to sort out.

good luck!
Only your insurance company can answer this - they're all different and interpret their deliberately vague terms in a variety of ways, not always consistently.
they often assume you have lost your no claims after an accident until its proved otherwise or settled...easier to refund premium than ask for more
Dare I point out that, given your current situation, shopping around for a lower premium could prove difficult?
