A very low turnout but even so quite a decisive win... Interesting to hear Farage's thoughts!

Strangely silent today agchristie...normally you can't keep him away from a camera or microphone ! Perhaps he is busy in Brussels having an extended lunch at one of its many 3 star Michelin places.....paid for, of course, by his huge expense account.

UKIP won the seat back in May ymb, but lost it terribly last night. Hardly going very well for them is it ?

No, but rather a sweeping statement on the back of a single result, reported by the local rag.

As non of the mainstream news channels seem to be interested I guess there is perhaps more to it. Maybe they will pick it up later.

Must have spent hours scouring the net for that little nugget! From Tory to UKIP to Labour in such a short space of time, combined with some of the poorest turnout figures ever seen would suggest apathy and which direction the wind is blowing(or not) on a particular day are the order of the day in Redditch.

From what I remember of Redditch, the low turnout may have been because everyone was driving round trying to find the polling station.

I once had a very nice piece of chocolate cake baked in Redditch by none other than Jacqui Smith :-)

The election was because the UKIP councillor has been expelled from the party for abusive comments about homosexuals so hardly a 'normal' election.
