Document translation

Is there any fairly quick, reliable way to accurately translate a document, eg a CV, into another language, without word-for-word plodding..? For example, is there any website which provides instant translation - more or less - of a document in a standard format..?

even dictionary translation will never give a realistic conversational translation ...
as the french might say - that which shall in syntax vairy from the english useage all of us will puzzle.

You can try Google's translate service. translate.google.com

But all these services are OK, but far from great. Nothing beats hiring a professional to do the translation. Especially for a CV!

For something as important as a cv it would definitely be best to get it done by a native speaker. I am amazed at how many documents get printed abroad, supposedly in English, and the translation is laughable. I got a washing machine booklet once which said "This button consent to do away with centrifuge". I realised by the drawing they meant - No spin!
