Update On Last Nights "whoops"

Took OH to station in Gloucester and off he went to Congleton, having to change trains three times. Off he went. I had a phone call from him about 2.30. He had broken down only driven 5 miles. Water pouring everywhere. He had a look at it, couldn't sort it. Rang AA can't come until 4.00. When he comes he says water pump has gone, and engine will have to be taken out and it will cost a lot more than he paid for it. He decided to get it towed back to sellers address. When he got there he found he was out. So what did he do next. He wrote him a note saying I don't want it now, send me a cheque. He also put the keys and log book through his letter box. He also put the receipt for the cash he had paid him earlier on. My mind boggles, he is not safe to be let out. He had also put £40 of petrol in the car.
The AA man gave him a lift to the station, he was asking about the car on the journey, when OH said he had bought it on eBay. The man said if he had known he would have had to charge him £3 per mile as they do not touch eBay.
He got the trains home, all three of them, I've just picked him up from Gloucester.
I can't see him getting his money back, he has no receipt, has no idea what the chappies name is left all documents in the car.
I think I need to put him on a long lead and never let him out again on his own!

I've just forwarded your post to a friend of mine. He's a Nigerian prince who's having some cash flow problems at the moment and who just needs to borrow someone's bank account to sort things out. He'll happily pay £100,000 for such a temporary facility and, upon reading your post, he seems to have decided that your OH is exactly the type of person he's looking for. I can't think why!
