Things You Love/hate About Summer.

I love lower gas bills and being able to dry the washing outside. There must be more but that's all I can think of.

I hate wasps, flies, lawn mowers, noisy kids, motor bikes, my kitchen at 40º in the afternoon sun. Neighbours who leave their dogs in the garden to bark all day and bonfires. What do you love/hate.

Love the cooler evenings, got my patio doors open and the cool breeze is so nice after sweltering in the car today. Downside is the moths are finding my lamps very attractive and soon the daddylonglegs will be joining in. I love my garden at this time, all the effort I put in has paid off and my tubs etc are beautiful, I even love the wild poppies that pop up here and there, the bees love them.

Whoops - also hate sun tan lotion (necessary evil) takes forever to plaster the kids in it (have one very fair child). Also, I eat badly anyway but in the heat I eat really badly.

Love the blue sky..the long light evenings...fresh laundry drying outside...birds nesting..fledglings..the return of swifts and swallows.
Hate crowded beaches..sweaty people..stinky choking bbq's...the school holidays and screaming kids..flying ants..mowing lawns..holiday traffic and caravans blocking narrow country roads.

Love the sunshine, washing drying on the line, cool drinks, strawberries, cherries and ice cream, not having to cook roast dinners, getting a bit of a tan. Hate, swollen ankles (new ailment) barbeque smells, screaming kids in supermarkets, selling my house having to keep it clean and tidy every day when it's hot. Flies and ironing on a hot afternoon.

I have lived in Very Very hot places, and the only thing I disliked about the heat was my glasses sliding down my nose.
Apart from that, when it comes to heatwaves in the short run and global warming in the long run, all I can say is

Seasonal/more variety fruit and veg
Long days

Flies and mossies
Cars with music on full blast (can't keep my window open at night)
Hot car and steering wheel
Sweaty, smelly people on bus
