Best Answer.

I find if a member gives an answer & there could be many, so as far as I am concerned every one has a " Best Answer" cause they have taken the time to reply, do you think it's wrong by NOT GIVING a best answer?

I only give best answers if I think there is a shining light of an answer miles ahead of all the others otherwise I think it's just nice that everyone has replied, quite often I don't award best answers at all.

Nothing wrong with that- it's completely your choice. Sometimes there are obvious best answers (crosswords etc), and sometimes they each add something. (Sometimes they are "award for the closest view to my own";-)). I always appreciate any responses.

No I don't think that's wrong at all. I tend to only give them when I've had an answer to a real question rather than a chatty thread. Although they are nice to receive I think they are more trouble than they are worth - but that's because of how we ABers give them rather than the concept itself.

I don't ask that many questions, but if I do I usually give a BA, although it might be a while after the question!

I mostly ask real questions and generally thank people and give a best answer if there is one; I'm not fussed if others don't.

TWR, I most definitely, positively, totally agree with you in this matter. It, what you postulated, is absolutely wrong; in fact it's bordering on the immoral.

Some BA's though can turn out not to be the case depending on the subject as further facts can come to light which could make another post more relevant! Baldric may well be correct to wait before offering a BA!!

I agree that it's a bit frustrating sometimes having to limit the award BA to only one - but it's not really that important is it ?

And it's certainly not wrong to fail to appoint one.
