un locking phones

if i buy a phone from tesco's which is on pay as you go with tesco mobile can i just put my o2 sim card in instead or do i need to get the phone unlocked if so how do i do this?

Most phones are locked so I doubt it will work with your O2 sim, you would have to try it.

As for unlocking, it can be done for �5 - �10 by any independant mobile phone shop or market stall, that kind of place.

You can also get unlock codes off the internet (you still have to pay) although I don't know how reliable these are.
