Competition - No Prizes. See If You Can Guess The New Name For This Re-Furbished Pub.
17 Answers
Please don't give it away if you live in the area or have visited recently. On Citadel Road in Plymouth, there is a pub that used to be called The Yardarm. You might think that is a very appropriate name for a pub in a city with such great maritime and naval history. Its located very near to The Citadel, built by Henry VIII to protect the city from invasion. Its very near to Plymouth Hoe and the Eddystone Lighthouse and quite close to the bowling green where legend has it that Sir Francis Drake played bowls whilst the Armada sailed up the English Channel. How inspiring for a new name then. So what did they come up with? Any guesses? If you guess this, I'll show my backside from the top of the Eddystone Lighthouse next time I'm in Plymouth. Well, maybe not!
