What are your views about super nanny on Channel 4? Would/or has anyone used any of her ways?

I love to watch this programme and can't really believe that children can rule their parents in this way but obviously some do. If I was in a desperate situation where I may lose it with the children. Then I think I would consider it.

my grandson is nearly 3 my daughter uses naughty chair method just for a few minutes and i do as i look after him 4 days in the week.and we have no tantrums now not to say it works with all children  you have to be firm and keep your word and not shout.

my 3 year old is mostly good, however when she's playing up i use supernanny method of crouch down to her level and firmly but calmly tell her what she's doing wrong and give last warning. it works better than shouting because the child is given such a clear message rather than just random shouting she doesn't really listen to.

I think she is brilliant.  I could have done with her when my lads were little.  Now I practise a couple of her methods on my 3yr old grandson.  Though don't need to do them very often.

She gets on my nerves. As do all these child psychology programmes. I may change my mind when my little one hits 2 or 3 though....

fab i parented my children in a similiar way when they were toddlers and i hardly ever need to tell them off now and i will use these same methods when my new baby reaches the age where he needs it.

oh i lurveee supernanny the warn and the naughty step works wonders cause our 4 yr old daughter was running rings around me and my husband and we were getting sick of it and watched super nanny and we took on the naughty step the reward system, it took a while for our daughter to get used to it but it works wonders now!! I have no words to describe how impressed I am with this particular reality show. No non sense or ridiculous issues in this program but, actually an issue that is affecting our society; how to raise our kids in a more democratic society. It is imperative that parents continue to raise respectful, self-controlled kids using the appropriate approach. As a teacher and a mother of 11 & 14 yr old kids, I have noticed how these days� kids want to control their parents however, without knowing the effects later on in life. KIDS DO NEED LIMITS TO BE HAPPY.
I take my hat off to the parents that volunteer to be in this program. First, obviously they are responsible parents that want to do things right. Second, kids don't come with a book of instructions, and these days kids are exposed to a lot therefore, they are more challenging. Third, having someone point out your wrong doings is not funny at all.

I commend Ricochet production for addressing the real needs in our society, respect beginning home.
